Visually a great movie. The writing came up short though. The characters and their obsession with the 23 wears thin after a little while and becomes annoying. Not to mention one of the characters was unidentified and seemed to pose as a filler for the movie. So-so writing, but it looked great.

I remember seeing this in theaters. I thought it was a really interesting role played by Jim Carrey. Although it wasn't recieved too great, I didn't think it was completely terrible. Definetly made me feel a bit paraonoid after.

I know it's a bit unfair to give this movie the (yet) lowest score of all the filmes I've rated. I Would have rated it a bit higher as it's kind of decent, but the score seemed to go well with the theme. The movie passes the time, but nothing more.

Not the best Jim Carrey movie by any means, but it's not bad. Going with the conspiracy theory of the number 23, the story unfolds nicely, although excessively blatant with the number 23 reference. I can see why that could've been the whole point of it, but it was exaggerated.

The film was okay, and acting was good. The story itself is great but it could be told better than this in my oppinion. Carrey seems to be doing a fantastic job in this type of genre aswell as comedy. The ending had me amazed yet disappointed because it somehow shut down all mystery in 1 single second. Other than that, I enjoyed it.

I missed the begining, but, in fact, it was a good thing because I was less disappointed. It is an ok story, but the impression I have is that this is not the appropriate kind of movie for Jim.

Not a good film, but i must have seen it in the right mood on the right day because i like it. Although i have only seen it once, four years ago, and have not wanted to revisit it since, if that says anything.

Is it too much to ask that a movie remain consistent with its own internal logic? Is it too much to ask that if a character can become obsessed with a novel, that he at least remember the main plot points or maybe read more than one chapter a day? Is it too much to ask that the novel's character play an instrument that doesn't look completely ridiculous when played for scares? Is it too much to ask for more than bad dialogue, half-baked numerology, and a big dumb plot twist at the end? Maybe.

It wasn't that awful. Although it disturbs me he reads slowly. It's interesting that most people reviewing have a problem with numerology bit as that is just a consequence of something else, just an effect of the real problem. It could just as well have been about teapots or door mats. Which probably would have made it a better movie, but that's not the point.
