License to Wed follows newly engaged Ben Murphy and his fiancée, Sadie Jones, in their quest to live happily ever after. The problem is that Sadie's family church, St. Augustine's, is run by Reverend Frank, who won't bless Ben and Sadie's union until they pass his patented, "foolproof" marriage-prep course. Consisting of outrageous classes, outlandish homework assignments and some outright invasion of privacy, Reverend Frank's rigorous curriculum puts Ben and Sadie's relationship to the test. Forget happily ever after - do they even have what it takes to make it to the altar? (Warner Bros.)

Robin Williams gets punched in the face... but not nearly enough.

Concrete proof that the camera was the funniest thing in The Office. They should have traded Robin Williams for that funny camera.

The movie is a miracle. It's so horrible that its own ineptitute made it funny. Robin Williams is a jerk, and I would have decked him again at the ending. Jim is the saving grace of this movie, who's act did not change at all from his Office character. He got annoyed with Robin Williams just as much as I did. The baby/mall scene is one of the funniest I ever viewed (up there with Corky Romano), so funny that I rewatched the 4 minute segment multiple times and I still couldn't stop laughing.

I expected a mediocre romantic comedy... and I was let down. It's never good when you don't expect much from a movie and you're let down. I figured that it was all a plan of the Reverend to have this couple start to hate eachother only to reconcile in the end, but it was awfully done. Williams' little kid understudy was just dumb and unnecessary. The robot babies were creepy as hell. It's just soooo bad!

Once again Jim Halpert is type cast and Robin Williams proves that he doesn't want to make good films any more. It made me sad.

Robin Williams, painfully unfunny in 'License to Wed,' makes the movie practically unbearable as if "RV" didn't teach him a thing. The comic timing is bad, and there's not one interesting or believable scene buried within the mess.

The ending is cute, but the whole film comes across as insincere. Moore is unlikeable, and Robin's the only one capable of delivering laughs (and even then, rarely). Formulaic and predictable, with a tacked-on moral about love.

I am always amazed when a unbelievably talented comedian fucks up a comedy. The story is more to blame, in the end.

Yikes. Bad. My brother & sister rented it; the only reason I watched it. (They didn't care for it either....) Robin Williams has a couple of funny lines, but they in no way redeem the movie. If you like watching people in uncomfortable situation...(read more)s making fools of themselves, watch this. And, we probably disagree on more than this movie.

A by the numbers romantic comedy. Nothing really terrible, although Williams is grating at times, but there's nothing all that good either.

I miss the times when Robin Williams being in a movie meant it would be good.

There's so much wrong with this movie, I don't even know where to start. Besides Williams, who is too creepy to play a priest, there's a good cast there, they were just sorely underused, especially Taylor, in what could have been a hilarious side character role, but she had no b-plot to speak of. Also, it wasn't funny, and since I've seen most of these actors be funny before, I know it was the writing.

why did Robin Williams have anything to do with this? And Mandy Moore in the same movie as him, are you kidding?

I am not really a Robin Williams movies. I enjoy his stand-up comedy, and have enjoyed a few of his more serious roles too. John Krasinski as Ben was hot, and he handled his role the best as well. There were a few funny bits, but after an hour things went downhill and the film was poorly tied up. Ending with a tacky dancing scene.

A couple of actually funny moments, and a whole lot sad, embarrassing moments that were clearly SUPPOSED to be funny but.... really.... weren't. All in all, pathetic. John Krasinski is better than this.

I'm sorry but why bother boosting Mandy's acting cred? If she wasn't any good at singing why did they think she would be good at acting?

Awful! I'm a big Robin Williams fan. I also dig John Krasinski and I usually enjoy Mandy Moore. However, they all made a terrible choice in doing this film. Robin Williams has made some great movies (Good Will Hunting, Dead Poet's Society) and some real stinkers (Death to Smoochy, Bicentennial Man). You can throw this toward the top of the stinkers list.

This movie was TERRIBLE! I walked out before it was over. It's so disappointing because I really like "The Office" and I enjoyed the cameos from the characters but this movie was so formulaic and boring. It was one of those movies where they show all the best parts in the trailer. And the best parts weren't all that great.

It is not perfect, but is funny. It has still some actors of the awesome The Office.
