There's a scene in "Jeder für sich und Gott gegen alle" [1974] where Kaspar describes a dream, and Herzog inserts a super lo. fi. 8mm shot (with two lenses on top of each other), taken by his brother in Myanmar, of a mysterious and haunting landscape of endless temples and mountains. This silent Jarman short of mostly static landscapes doesn't really have a whole lot to it, but on the other hand there is some aspect of a similarly beautiful and Delphic quality.

It looks very nice and all (amplified by the appropriate warm colour tinge), but this reeks of installation art as it has not structure -- it really is just a bunch of shots one after the other.

[YT] Combined with Coils industrial consciousness-altery it works much better, trippy and shamanic. On it's own there's not much to it.
