The Rob Schneider Project-day 28. How long was I gone? I wake up and find myself bound to a surgery table. A labcoat wearing Kevin James looms over me. "See, the host personality is resurfacing! I told you his mind wasn't broken properly!". Adam Sandler replies from behind me. "Then we continue. Do Zohan this time. On repeat. That'll teach him". Kevin grins at me. "Hey, at least he didn't pick Grown Ups." Then the movie starts and the pain follows. Oh god! I'm not Rob Schneider! I AM NOT ROB SCH

I usually don't care for Adam Sandler movies. I'll watch for a few minutes, then turn off the dvd player. However, I found myself enjoying this one. There's a particular sense of humor that this movie caters to, and a lot of people will not find it funny. However, if you find humor in absurdity and human flaw, this Sandler flick might be just the ticket for a late night rental to accompany some microwave popcorn. Make sure to rent a 2nd movie, though, just in case you don't care for Zohan.

Schneider quest, film 28: I expected this movie to be worse, much worse, than this. Don't get me wrong though, it still sucks. It's insulting in every single way, and because it's a Sandler movie, I feel a little violated. About Schneider: well, don't have much to say about him. Just in case I wasn't clear: it's a fucking stupid movie.

So over the top and ridiculous I can't help but laugh at how much Sandler loves just doing whatever he wants and knowing he will take in millions of dollars for it. A few laughs but nothing really worth seeing but much better than I expected. Emmanuelle Chriqui is awful yet again.

Another Happy Madison production with lots of celebrities from lots of different American TV series. The movie is funny but ridiculously absurd too. It makes fun about stereotypes and middle eastern jokes. It doesn't deserve second watch but yes it gives you few soap bubble fun minutes.

(Viewed on 02/01/12): The racial stereotypes in Y.D.M.W.T.Z are so over the top that they border on the surreal and are thus too absurd to be truly offensive. Sandler plays Zohan, an Israeli counterterrorist who fakes his own death to pursue his dream of being a hair stylist! While it features all the usual problems with Sandler films since his rise to fame--it's overlong and self indulgent--he fits this role like a glove, and there are plenty of hilarious moments.

The first 20 minutes is pretty funny and really over the top, but after a while it gets really repetitive. Sandler should just stop here, although it is a little funny, it is nothing that made sandler good again.

Not as mean-spirited or as head-aching as "Step Brothers," but it has no point, nor a single laugh. There's a fine line between creative-stupid like "Zoolander" and the brainless-stupid of "Zohan." Sandler's new character just isn't likable, and all of the jokes are about Zohan's penis, butt and poorly digitalized action sequences where he leaps around and folds people into pretzels. His 'romance' is absurd, and there's really very little plot as Sandler pursues a message about the Middle-East.

Roger Ebert said this movie was so bad but for some reason he still laughed. For me this movie was just so bad. There were some bits that were actually funny, I cannot deny that. However that were sandwiched and drowned by a sea of retarded penis, middle-eastern stereotype (especially hummus) and old/fat chick jokes. Also Rob Schneider is a horrendous comedic actor. I'm sure he's fun at parties or something but he's an absolutely terrible comedic actor.

I'm a sucker for Adam Sandler movies. I usually like them all even though I know they aren't great. Sure this was stupid in a lot of ways...but it made me laugh most of the time (although the repeated hummus jokes got really old). It's not for everybody but none of his movies ever are. If you like any of Sandler's non-stand out movies then you might like this.

The movie is at its best when Zohan is in full-on Action Hero mode, because the action goes way over the top and it's hilariously absurd like the worst (best?) 80s actioners. Unfortunately this just isn't often enough. Chriqui is painfully awful, and the script can't balance good Apatow wit with weak physical comedy. While it starts as a light and funny dialog on the the Israel/Palestine conflict, it lays it on thick in the end. Sandler goes too close to Borat at times, but cameos make it fun.

I didn't found anything worth reminding in this movie. I didn't laugh ever when watching it (and believe me, it's not that difficult, I'm not playing hard here), and the story is just horrible. I didn't found any worthy message or good satire about the politics involved, something that could have at least been a proof of good but unsuccesful intentions. No good characters or acting either. Absolutely nothing good. I can't even imagine why they did this movie.

Yawn. Generic, average Sandler, occasionally funny but mostly the same one note repeated over and over again, getting less interesting each time. The plot is lacking, and the finale is something of a godsend. Stay with it for the first half, but be prepared for a chore towards the end.

Not even close to par for a Sandler movie. Way too many jokes were repeated over and over and many relied on just being crude instead of also having wit behind them. Crude is fine, but if that is all I wanted, I would have gone and seen a bad Mike Myers movie.

One of the weakest films of Sandler's career with no real threads to follow and zero comedic moments that made me laugh endlessly. Just such a weird misfire right from the beginning. Not sure how this film ever got the greenlight to be produced. It's Hollywood drivel at its finest with a big name bill to try and convince audience's it is worth something.

Starts enjoyable, with Sandler having fun and providing a generally high laugh count as his character (and assets) are established. Unfortunately the screenplay reveals itself as tiresome variations on the same joke; while the horn-dog oversexed jokes are amusing to begin with, the sledgehammer repetition becomes wearying, especially when combined with bizarre digressions courtesy of the Sandler-Turturro rivalry. Overlong as well, with copious cameo players wasted or given nothing to do.

This is a strange case in the Adam Sandler filmography. What had seemingly grown to be nothing but over the top caricatures and stereotypes is a movie staring Sandler as a Israeli secret agent turned wannabe New York City hairstylist finding a home at a Palestinian woman's salon and later feuds with a Palestinian cab driver who holds a grudge with Zohan over a goat. Somehow this obvious allegory for the Israeli/Palestinian conflict inside a Sandler farce is funnier than expected

what a weird movie. it feels like an R-rated script that was edited down to PG-13 during production, given how many bare asses and sex jokes there are. it feels like it's cashing in on Borat, except with Baron Cohen's self-effacing and cruel satire replaced with Sandlerian slapstick in service of a perpetuating the false notion of a two-state solution to continue Israeli apartheid. it's commendable that so late in his career, Sandler took on his most reprehensible role: a former Mossad agent
