Excellent proof that you don't always need huge budgets, handsome actors and mind boggling sets to make a good (sci-fi) movie. All you need is good writing, directing and acting. And boobs. This movie has it all. Take thát Hollywood.

Predictable early on, and suffers from some minor plot holes but ultimately gripping. To watch our protagonist/antagonist slowly realize the lengths he must go through to fix his situation is a real treat.

At first I hoped for something other than I got, but then as the movie went on, it was really interesting watching the main character go through what he had to. I liked the music a lot, the acting was solid, the girl who shows her boobs really is beautiful and soft sci-fi works well, avoiding an explanation of time travel and just embracing the plot created by it.

Distinguishes itself from the rest of the frequently rote and tiresome time travel genre by concentrating on a tense and unnerving tone. It goes to some quite dark places, bordering on becoming a horror film, but knows when to play it light so that it doesn't become overbearing. And it's even free of technobabble! Not quite something different, but it's different enough to become something thrilling and refreshing.

Another hit from Spain, where [Rec] was the scariest film I'd ever seen, this sci-fi is one the best time travel films I've seen. Enjoyable, gripping, nerve-wracking, and heavenly smart (apart from the beginning which was a total loose end). Having seen great films recently, I can say I'm pleased to avoid bad films. Something I wanted to share. PSI (love)...

Simply brilliant, maybe except on the acting parts. You think yourself clever when you think you've figured it out, and then BAM, you're wrong. And again. And again. Still, rewarding and brilliantly written.

Imbecile, idiotic and completely predictable amateur work. The story was decent but executing draged, actors had no sense of timing and the whole thing was lacking of any hint of pacing. The most frustrating thing was that the brilliant idea was flawed with stupid decisions of protagonist; nothing surprising on a way. They totally spoiled the good premises of the plot. And everything started with boobs.

Fantastic time-travel movie, I think this trumps every other time-travel story I have seen in terms of complexity and by having not just 2 but 3 or more simultaneous versions of reality overlapping, along with a twist I never saw coming. Nothing in the movie is ever explained if it's possible to postpone that explanation till later. The script, direction and editing by Nacho Vigalondo all have to be perfect for this to work at all. A haunting, chilling suspense-led horror theme underpins it all.

Very Good. A mild-mannered family man unwittingly takes a trip back in time, and keeps repeating the trip to stop a reckless chain reaction leading to an unavoidable climax. This is a pretty neat premise handled flawlessly here. It'll kepp you riveted to the screen throughout its short runtime. Definitely worth buying,

This is one of the very few examples that gives some real thought to time travel dillema. There is Lem story where Ijon Tichy multiplies numerous times in an electromagnetic field, that story by far surpasses this film, but there is no comparing to the genius of Lem. Anyways Timecrimes held my interest for 2/3 if it's runtime. The lead is very good in his weary -let's get this thing done with- way. The unavoidable fallacy emerges as loops complete and what's left is only a few details to bind.

Neither as simple as it looks, nor as annoyingly complicated as PRIMER. There are points where I knew exactly where it was going but the fun is in getting there. The film's best asset is the way it blends sci-fi, horror and even black comedy as Hector blunders his way through time travel. It never attempts to explain how everything works, it just throws you into it and lets you enjoy the ride. The story moves swiftly and never bogs down. A fun film that cautions about the perils of voyeurism.

A neat little thriller about the dangers of time travel. A lot of the ideas have been done before and like most films of this genre it has some loose ends and other flaws, but the film limits its scope and doesn't bother with silly scientific explanations - both major pluses -and is generally tense and interesting.

Knotty time-travel yarn is an insubstantial but fun plough through the complications of time travel paradoxes; while motivational logic occasionally takes a hiding (and makes its protagonist a pretty loathsome character), in practical terms everything makes sense, and Vigalondo tells his potentially confusing narrative in a clear and exciting way; he also contributes a fine supporting performance as the befuddled proprietor of the machine.

Very well constructed film that's complex and tense enough to be interesting to watch but not so much that it crumbles under its own weight. I didn't find the voyeurism angle all that interesting, but all the exploration of causality and determinism/free will was great. The slightly tongue in cheek tone works well too.

It's like watching a 20-minute movie 3 times over. Intriguing for the first 20 minutes, but the spoon-fed explanations in the latter versions of the story make the film really dull and predictable. I think the moral of the story is "Voyeurism is bad", but that happens to be the only part of the movie I'd be willing to watch over and over again!

Wow, what an unexpected little gem. I'd never even heard of this movie before. It's really well conceived, and tight as hell. Sometimes time travel movies end up being so damned sprawling that you get lost in the plot, but in this movie travelling back in time thrice fits perfectly into a three act structure. It works from a sci-fi angle, it works from a faux-slasher or horror film angle, and it works on a symbolic, boring husband lured away by naked young woman angle. Great find.

Pacey enough to keep the momentum going for the whole film, but let down some poor characterisation. The protagonist is just totally unsympathetic, and the way he develops from a bumbling suburbanite into an ice-cold time-travel guru is totally implausible. I thought there were some gaps in the plot, too, particularly around how the whole chain of events got started, although I guess a few loose ends are par for the course in a film like this.

'Bootstrap Paradox: The Movie' (it is my fav time travel paradox anyway). This was pretty fun, with an interesting start and a really good ending, but the second act I found a bit predictable. For me, it really came alive in the final act, where it felt like everything could happen. It was also surprisingly funny, in a very dark way.

A neat little sci-fi film with a small cast that plays like almost like a slasher. It manages to have a complex, surprisingly believable (at least as far as time travel movies) puzzle-like plot without getting bogged down in technobabble the way films like Primer did. Despite the intricate timeline, most viewers will only need one viewing to understand it fully, making the movie ideal for bridging the gap between sci-fi geeks and casual viewers.

Tightly focused, logical, and very satisfying. Watching an event play out from different perspectives and trying to predict what exactly is happening is just so much fun. Like the film Primer, this movie's series of events stays within the confines of a short amount of time. Also like Primer, it's a real head scratcher. The difference here is that this film is actually comprehensible.

Time travel and dark comedy are two themes that are really hard to get just right. This movie does a decent job at mixing both, which is an achievement by itself. It's fun seeing the circularity of the story unravel as the plot gets more and more ridiculous so I had a good time. It's funny how following a single person's timeline from beginning to end of a time-travel movie is actually a novel take on the genre. Of course I have seen Primer so this wasn't exactly taxing on the brain, and some of it is fairly predictable to the point where sometimes you want to say to the writer, OK, I get it! But it is very entertaining, and the last half hour is especially fun, when they introduce some more complicating elements. It's not a Primer-esque head-fuck, but it's enjoyable.

The interesting machinations of time travel don't save this Spanish thriller. If you're well-versed in this kind of movie, the main surprise can be guessed a mile away. But even worse, the main character's unrealistic and bumbling actions seem to happen solely to keep the movie going, since they're idiotic in the moment. We don't expect 100% reality from time travel movies, but at least attempt to flesh out a character's motivations. The third act manages to throw in a couple surprises.

Top badass moment? Never thought “Picture This” could sound so unsettling. To work, this film requires the main characters to behave (and I’m being uncharacteristically charitable here) very stupidly at times. So meet Héctor, an obviously overpaid, under-achieving, zero initiative middle-manager. He's going to be pissed the next time he mows the lawn and runs those scissors over. :-) And the table his wife wanted - cheap-looking and ugly; glad it got smashed. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.
