Prom Night

This movie was not scary in any way, it didn't even have startling horror, much less actually making me afraid. This movie actually completely omitted one of the most important parts of horror movies for me, blood. Not only were the death scenes lacking but when someone gets their throat slit, how can they not even bleed enough to stain the carpet? This is terrible, I need rivers flowing red with blood and sucking chest wounds and decapitations with spurting arteries.

This movie sucked.

I've got an idea! Let's re-make a horrible 80's movie and somehow make it worse! Believe all the review, folks. Simply horrible.

Everyone has remarked about how awful this movie is - they are right - but who the hell casted this movie? This is a movie about high school kids and they all look like they are in their 30's. Waste of film.

The remake does manage to include light bulbs in its budget. I'm actually impressed by the complete lack of originality that went into the this movie - it takes talent to make a movie this devoid of any ideas whatsoever. Most script writers and directors would try to put some tiny little individual spin on it, some little bit that says "Hey, look, this was my contribution"... but apparently all anyone asks of a horror movie these days is that it's well-lit.

I would rather be in this movie's universe than watch this movie.

Implausible and plot hole-ridden to the point where it can potentially affect society and the fabric of reality as we know it.

Terrible remake of a not-so-great 80s horror movie. Very little blood makes this a useless horror movie. Horrible acting makes it not worth watching at all.

this movie is so horrible..the prom they did not have one overweight person, and the only saving grace for this I did not pay to see it...

Damn shit movie. Worse movie I think I've ever seen, and I've seen some terrible ones. The characters were both unbelievable and unlikable. The acting was horrid. The plot was unexplainable and horribly predictable. Even the terrible original was better than this hunk of shit.

A PG-13 slasher flick? Really? This had no chance from the get go. Slasher flicks need lots of nudity, sex, blood and gore. This had none of the above. Ridiculous!

I'd heard such awful things that I guess my expectations were pretty low to begin with, so I wasn't horribly disappointing. The acting was horrible, but what this film does do is turn horror around in the sense that they create a villain with SUCH a dark horrid background, that you are actually rooting for the dumb teens to survive, and if you really think about it, how often are we NOT rooting for the killer in horror...?

If the cops are that silly, anyone could be a serial killer. LOL

The dull and scare-free Prom Night is a remake chocked full of beautiful teenagers overreacting to things both mundane and terrifying, as well as a hefty number of horror movie cliches that reaches the point of absurdity.

Enjoyed it a lot when I first saw it (I was new to horror films at the time), but it's now more apparent how basic the film is. The only thing it has going for it is that it's not too easy to predict who dies. Somewhat entertaining.

One positive in this whole mess. The killer was at least different with his motivations on going after the lead. But this was otherwise a completely stupid movie, with horribly written characters.

As dull and by-the-numbers a slasher as you'll ever get, it's also a remake in name only & is nothing like the original or any of the sequels- not even taking place at Hamilton High. The cast do alright with what little they're given, but not even serious talents like Idris Elba & Brittany Snow can make this more than the soulless, generic cash grab it is. The script isn't good, the characters aren't good, the kills aren't good, & the ending is inexcusably lame. It's watchable, but barely.

Just like all remakes, this is completely offensive to the original.

If you're like me and just enjoy watching horror movies for the heck of it, go ahead and check it out. Personally, I find even bad horror films at least entertaining. That said, this could have been a lot better, and I'm a much bigger fan of the original.

The only remarkable thing about this crappy remake is that somebody as talented as Idris Elba somehow ended up in this piece of garbage.

It has much less violence and blood then usual and the players doesn't look like models. Sadly it only seems to be part of the overall dullness.
