Walky Talky Hawky

The first and probably the best Foghorn Leghorn cartoon. I could never get enough of a fat, redneck chicken beating up on a dog.

I'm not sure why but I've always liked Foghorn Leghorn, the little chicken hawk and the dog whatever his name is. Foghorns voice is different in this short than I'm used to.

Actually halfway decent, which puts it way above par for Looney Tunes

Foghorn Leghorn debuts and hits the ground running, unlike the long, awkward gestations of Porky, Daffy, Elmer and Bugs. McKimson's filmography includes a lot of similarly burly, usually very gullible characters that never took off and I think the reason this one's appealing is his relative cunning.

While I generally love Looney Tunes, I don't tend to like the recurring side character cartoons ... like the Foghorn Leghorn vs. the little chicken hawk ones. So ... I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this (Oscar nominated) first pairing of these two, which I had miraculously never seen. There's something far more odd and absurdist about Leghorn here.
