Decent animated kids feature about a young girl who runs off with a pair of dragon hunters looking to take down "The World Gobbler". The setting is some kind of weird fantasy world made up of millions of small floating/flying rocks loosely connected by vines (which is never explained or commented on). Poor characterization and some slow pacing mitigated by good animation and a pretty awesome finale against the dragon.

Incredible visuals, easily the rival of anything from Pixar. Unfortunately the character models make no sense, though the idea of Ghost Dog and Yakko fighting a Dracolich got me through to the end.

Not half bad but it's dragged down by a mediocre plot and some pretty juvenile jokes. Maybe something was lost in the translation but I doubt it. While I'm sure the kids will be entertained it's not something the majority of adults will enjoy I'm sure.

Interesting humor that pushes the envelope in a few places. But most of the characters were pretty generic (sorry Rob Paulsen, who voiced the little guy in the English dub, you couldn't save it). Effects were decent. It's just a weak story with weak characters.

The world was more interesting than the characters.

Great animations and screenplay make up for a somewhat loose story and weak character development. It would've been interesting to learn a little more about the world they live in... But then again, maybe the movie draws most of it's appeal from the fact that the viewer has to use his own imagination to fill the gaps. In any case, the great visuals and well-executed action scenes alone account for a fun watch.

An Epic Shrek/Never-Ending-Story: Tale of a self-made-knight taking on a dragon to save the world. Undoubtedly the most epic graphics you'll ever see in an animation very reminiscent of Avatar. If Shrek was an A+, Dragon Hunters is a B.

A few simple changes and this could be really good, but how many ugly, annoying characters do I have to endure.
