What makes Variety Girl (1947) unique is that it's a Who's Who of Paramount. Must suck to work at that studio sometimes. Here the company force just about everybody on contract, directors and all, to appear in this variety picture to push the careers of two young actresses who's careers never took off. That of Mary Hatcher & Olga San Juan. They were fine and all that, so no idea why their careers barely lasted a few years, but it was cruelty to all the others to play second-fiddle to the two.
