Largely unfunny, and semi-interesting. It's essentially a crappier Christmas version of "Meet The Parents". I did chuckle a few times, but nothing I couldn't have gotten out of any of it's peers.

The beginning of this movie had me wondering if I had the right flick. Besides that though this is the normal cookie cutter date flick... except it is for the holidays. Vaughn did his normal sarcastic character and had me laughing in some parts. Reese tried to be funny too, but that just didn't go to well. The stuff with Vaugh and Favreau was probably the best material, but that's really not saying too much. I also learned to never put up a satellite dish by yourself.

It's built on the gimmick of a couple (who seem snobbish but I don't think the leads noticed) being forced to visit each one of their divorced parents in 1 day & each visit plays like the set-up for jokes it is, which is fine as long as the many jokes work. This didn't work most of the time for me, but it generally wasn't eye-rolling & both the Taboo game & watching Vaughn's character take his role in a Xmas play way too seriously gave me some legit laughs. I also like looking at Reese.

This will be a hit because Vaughn and Witherspoon are major box office stars, not because the movie is all that funny. It has its moments here and there, and a few good laughs, but it's mostly loud and frantic - like 'Meet the 4x Parents' but without the good jokes. Duvall, Steenburgen, Spacek and Voight really have little to do here at all. Take away some of the obvious gags of throw-ups, body slams, and bratty kids- and "Four Christmases" doesn't have a surprising trick up its sleeve.

This movie is exactly what i expected. Your usual romantic comedy plot, A couple chuckles, not remembering a damn thing from the movie the following day. It's watchable, but nothing special.

It works okay as a Christmas movie, but that's it really. It really doesn't have anything that can be considered a meaningful plot, and although Vaughn & Co are quite funny in dribs and drabs, this is not a good film by any stretch of the imagination. It gets bonus marks because as I said above, it is quite a nice Christmas movie.

This film has a bad script that does not really go any place. There are a couple of minor laughs but not enough to recommend this comedy. Overall this film is disappointing.

It would be interesting to have an anti-Christmas movie that actually sticks to its guns rather than forcing the lead characters to discover the meaning of blah blah blah by enduring their horrific families once a year. Yet every year we get another set of phoned-in ensemble comedies centered around promoting our most consumer friendly holiday. Four Chrismas' is no different, selling the magic of Christmas by having a baby puke on Reese Witherspoon and knocking Vince Vaughn off a roof.

Wow, a lot of hilarity and hijinks can happen in one day, huh? And yet, RW's hair is perfect at all times! This movie was OK (for a mindless Christmas movie, mind you), but it lost me somewhere around the middle of Christmas # 2. Vaughn had a few funny moments, but he alone can't carry something like this. I was still ok with it until the end, which made NO SENSE based on previous events, but since it made for a "cute" little ending, they went with it. Was I not supposed to notice?

A largely forgettable Christmas movie. It has some good moments here and there but the humor is fairly predictable. Anyone who likes Vince Vaughn's nonsensical rants will of course like this movie.

Unexpectedly managed to extract quite some laughs out of me, especially Favreau and Robert Duvall aka De Ouwe (who was already ancient in 2008!)

When Brad (or should I say Orlando) was getting his ass whipped by his brothers and when he was on the roof and his dad called him and his brothers stupid idiots where the only funny parts in my opinion.

Awful. TERRIBLE writing. Only the scene at his mother's where they play Taboo is even remotely funny.

Four Christmases gets off to a truly awful start, and even with a few cute moments it doesn't approach good. Simply put, the film just isn't that funny. The entire child subplot is painfully clichéd. The set-up, which on some level should comment on the different ways Xmas is spent, is reduced to being bullied by your family. If anything, this is an anti-Christmas film that seems to celebrate selfishness.

Some lengthy sketches tied loosely together to form a "story." Sort of funny once, but no need to re-watch every Christmas.

All these years later and I still enjoy Vaughn's schtick. There's very little in the way of plot or Christmas-ness, but it's still relatively funny in a lowest common denominator kind of way.

They might have discovered--this year--that cardinal rule of Christmastime: It is better to give than receive. But they don't. By way of a sneak peek into the future at the end of the film, we see the self-centered duo right back at their old tricks the following year. Life has thrown a twist at them--and it's New Year's instead of Christmas. But no real lessons have been learned. And no real changes are made. It's another repeat of the same old same old--just like Vaughn's movies. (pluggedin.com)

Oh, well, this has to be one of the worst Christmas movies ever made -- not even Favreau and Duvall's stupid roles could save it from its total lack of good ideas.

Starts fully cliché, then raises some hope of not being cliché, and ends with an almost fully cliché with a few small bits of non-cliché. If you understood anything, maaaaaaaybe you might want to see it. Had a few laughs, nothing more.

Absolutely horrible. Incredibly predictable and cliched. The story, writing and characters were all terrible, expecting us to feel sorry for these mean-spirited, rich brats not getting to go on their expensive holiday and expecting us to laugh at them judging people with not as much money as they have or as "cultured" as they are. Also, I only laughed once and it was in the first five minutes, so the rest of the film was pretty torturous. Offensively bad.

I mostly enjoyed Reese Witherspoon and Robert Duvall. Vince Vaughn was not convincing and seemed more like a con man. They were mismatched and had no chemistry. Two people trying to go to Fiji so they can avoid visiting their dysfunctional families at Christmas. It should have been much better, but it was mildly comical and somewhat entertaining at times. The baby puke gag was stupid, and the plot and dialog were sometimes lame.

It's not the worst Christmas comedy out there. Although there are several moments featuring a distinct lack of comedy. Witherspoon and Vaughn make an appealing pair though and it serves well enough as a pointless holiday distraction.

Weird choice for Reese, but she must have been struggling finding good roles at this point of her career. She and Vaughn do not make a very convincing couple. The film is divided into four distinct episodes, and tries to be a raunchy comedy in Hangover sort of way, but still delivers a very old fashioned message and very few laughs. Waste of great actors like Spacek, Duvall and Voight in supporting roles.

The film is not so bad. Especially for the good cast, but wasted here. If it was not Vince Vaughn, who is very funny, a movie would be completely disposable.
