The most striking features are the soundtrack which combines elements of musique concrete with an orchestral score, and the many high-contrast shots of animals in motion. The final shot is particularly magnificent. Not sure what to take from it in terms of "message" as my immediate ideas didn't seem to be what I would expect from 1970 USSR although it seems like a dialectical structure may have been intended. The IMDB summary plainly states an allegorical meaning I hadn't considered.

Unmitigated frenetic chaos. It maybe what it's supposed to be, and then kudos to Peleshian. But it's typically what does not work for me.
