Production values were not below standard, and the acting was overall acceptable. The only problem was the idea was genuinely stupid, and it fails to make you care at all. It's overly criticized, but still a bad movie, just not as bad as they say.

Not great, but kids will eat it up. Cute as all hell.

Despite star-filled supporting roles by the likes of Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon and Lisa Kudrow, the numerous trained dogs are the best part of this woofer. Purely a kids' movie with ample silly sweetness courtesy of the dogs.

What can I say, I have a soft spot for dogs and a soft spot for Disney kids movies (although this isn't actually done by Disney it's very similar to their kids movie offerings).

Mistakes - 1) In the scene where Bruce and Andy are hiding from Animal Control with the dogs, the two Animal Control people step on the "Bone Sweet Bone" pillow and leave a dirty footprint. When Friday goes to get it later, it is clean. 2) When the dog catcher is locked out from the outside and he is trying to get back in, you can see a crewmember with arms around his neck reflected on the black door.

Above average family film. The dog hotel scenes are unnecessarily OTT, but it's a really fun film for children with a nice message and moving ending.

The leads are powerful but can't help the problems in Hotel For Dogs script. Go ahead kids.

Another one to buck the trend! - A great family film. It's schmaltsy, sentimental, unrealistic, cheesy and your kids will love it. That's the point of this film, it's aimed at the under tens and if you treat it as a distraction and escape from reality (much as 101 dalmations) it works well on that level. The dogs steal the show (obviously) but the main cast are also credible. Not as bad as its painted.

Sometimes I really question why the fuck I waste my time on so many shitty movies. Then, I get bored of the thought and decide to distract myself by watching more shitty movies. Yeah, I am a pretty horrible person. My bad...
