Three To Tango

For a movie that should be a groan-inducing crapshow, it manages to work its stupid concept to great effect, buoyed largely by the efforts of Perry and Platt. It also helps that Neve Campbell is smoking hot in this, but she gives a decent performance as well. I hate McDermott, but you're supposed to here, as he plays the kind of smarmy ass-hat role that he excels in. For a late-90s romcom, it's surprisingly alright. It doesn't just pass the time, I actually kinda liked it. Embarrassing, I know.

Campbell and Perry have some awkward chemistry and for a couple of scenes it seems like there is the possibility of a cute romance on the cards. But the rest of the film, in particular the gay-not-gay storyline, is just so cringe-inducingly bad that it's easy to lose interest. In the end it's just too much of Matthew Perry doing a very poor impersonation of being in a Jim Carrey film.

Matthew Perry is a nice guy who can't have the girl he likes so he has to pretend to be gay or something, and awkward situations happen. Oh my! How awful for the hero to have to suffer and listen to his crush and his nemesis have sex! Ho ho!

Possibly the sharpest and freshest rom-com of the last ten years, with a killer soundtrack and Perry's (only?) great preformance.

My rating is probably too high, but I saw it at a time that I liked Friends and Chandler was my favorite.

Funniest thing I've seen for quite some time, had a great many laughs. I understand these stars are all TV people & so for some they may be more rote & uninteresting. Everyone here is terribly cute & clever & i enjoy being caught off guard by characters saying things that sound honest. The last 10 minutes or so unravels with dull slowness of scenes we've seen in every movie like this, why can't the movie just end while still interesting?

I kind of like it but Matthew Perry is the same dude he always is and he mucks the film up. Would have been cuter.
