G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

So-so cheesefest, saved from a lower score by Snake Eyes vs. Storm Shadow (especially that fight in the kitchen).

It was BAD! Did they even have a military consultant? Who ever wrote the story and screen play should be shot, brought back to life, then shot again! for destroying something this bad that I enjoyed as a child. I'd rather watch the cartoon movie again than this POS. Do they think their audiences are uneducated idiots? Even the CGI wasn't that great.

Great action sequences and an ending that leaves you begging for more in a stunning cliffhanger.

I like action movies but this is too much even for me. I falled asleep during the final part.

It was ok-ish, but then a bit awful.

As much as I loved the animated series, the comics and the toyline, this pretty much sucked. I couldn't bare to sit the whole thing out. Major dissapointment. Not worth my time.

So as a movie, it was absolutely terrible. But for entertainment purposes, it was absolutely hilarious. So bad, so cheesy, so pointless, so futilely serious, that I completely enjoyed myself. Other theatergoers probably hated me since I kept laughing throughout parts that were meant to be entirely serious.

Weak story. Cool action.

Not brilliant by a long shot, but for two hours of dumb (REALLY dumb) entertainment, it does the job just fine.

worst movie i've seen in a long time. and i tend to watch bad movies from time to time. the main problem seems to be that they took the origin of the movie too much into account. the story is like if the writers watched children playing with the action-figures and wrote everything down they said. and since this is a action movie with lots of cgi effects, it's troublesome that they are so poor that i couldn't even enjoy this main part of the movie and satisfy my need for spectacle.

This could be an Uwe Boll film. Except, honestly, Uwe's more recent movies have been better than this one. Poor acting, bad directing, and a plot torn straight from the pages of "bad film school", this film has poor characterization and little depth; badly spoken lines and just plain bad acting; and I won't touch the special effects with a 10 foot pole - I've MADE better CGI for video games. Still, it's got stuff blowing up and hot girls...

Suspension of disbelief cannot even rectify the abysmally ridiculous plot and characters. The action scenes are unbearably cliche and at moments are as plastic as the action figures themselves. The humor consist of flat lovey-dovey lines and sexual innuendos; moreover, Hollywood's anti-capitalist disposition has become so blatantly biased towards their naive socialism and utopian worldview that it is pathetic. The only positive note, is the laughs accompanied by Hollywood's wild-eyed stupidity.

Pretty good action, trite and predictable storyline, and hot women. Just one simple problem. Ice floats. And even Hollywood can't defy the laws of physics.

65 could be known by many as a score that's too high for this film! However, I, for some reason, seem to actually really enjoy this film as a film that you can watch just for entertainment and for nothing else. Yes it's not a great film, but it's built for nothing more than your entertainment. And it does well at that

Ok... this movie is everything you'd expect from a summer action movie. It's not "Casablanca" or "Hamlet." It's babes, bombs and bangs and probably liked better than most will admit. 8D

great effects, good adaptation, some good miniplots, very nice surprises too. oh, yeah, btw, baroness and scarlett were hot!!

mindless action. good for the special effects

never seen such a terrible mess of a maybe big action movie. it looks nice with some nice or good action scenes and a quite mediocre use of Visual effects as usual because it was a Sommers movie but a bit improvement. plot was not interesting at all with an awfully written screenplay. editing was bad and so was everything else. the characters and acting performances weren't good or likable at all. it was forgettable and awfully made. and that underwater battle?

I wanted to like it more than I did. It had potential it did not realize. The effects where good.

Can't understand what audience is this movie for...G.I.Joe is dedicated to young people, let's say straight - kids. Comics are close to the same audience so...WTF is going on? A lot of 'brutal' solutions, way too heavy for this age-range to bear without being affected. Acting poor as hell and if it comes to fights - definitely for adults. Guess that someone had only money in his/her sick mind. Beside that only thing that may want You to see it are special effects...at least major part of them.

an extremely fun and unapologetic action movie that'll get the kid in you wanting more and more. some of the dialog is cheesy and the plot seems a little absurd, but come on. it's a GI joe movie. the over the top action sequences make up for it with enthusiasm to spare.
