You guys aren't gonna believe it. A monster movie doesn't out-last its welcome. B movies being brief no way

A nicely goofy B value movie. The beam-thing was the most disturbing element. There was no sense with it.

Another 1950s B Sci-fi movie under my belt. I had never heard of this one, and it's perfect for the genre. Just good corny fun.

Seriously lame. You know who the hero is immediately because he's much more handsome than all the other scientists. The animation makes the electricity-sucking monster look silly

Solid B production making the best of its budget with good casting and some nicely shadowy cinematography. Ironically starts running lower on steam once the titular menace makes the scene, though the effects were decent for the period, and again speak to working creatively within budget.

Okay, I've seen an awful lot of these kinds of things over the years, and yet I'd have to say that this one came across as seeming pretty original. Yeah, there's one of those "I'm a scientist, but I'm a woman too" bits in the midst of it...but the mood otherwise was unusually low-key and pensive. And the monster (or whatever it was) was certainly unique; provided you can get past its rather odd (okay, silly) means of locomotion, there's a fair amount of interest to be had here.

The world's coming to an end and only three people seem to care! Interesting premise and invader design completely goofy in execution.
