I Am the Cheese

So shoddily executed one is tempted to travel back in time and knock Cormier's novel out of the hands of one's twelve year-old self to save one's twentysomething self such suffering. But then, it would not have permanently instilled in one a consuming predilection for paranoiart that would further propel one down that path begun at THE X-FILES, winding through Pynchon & Pakula & Philip K Dick, and ending up somewhere south of where William Gaddis meets Harry Stephen Keeler. Call it a wash.
