Robin Hood: Men in Tights

It had potential, but never really made me laugh as much as it should have. Even if you like Mel Brooks, it won't live up to some of his other films.

Great genuine laughter...an element I think we've lost in this time and age. Really enjoyable fun that most can relate to (at least anyone who remembers the original story).

It's a spoof, but it's a high quality spoof. The jokes are great, though they are a tad outdated at times. The ending was a tad irritating.

Some of the jokes are now outdated and, frankly, horrible, but I do find myself laughing pretty hard at the rest of the gags every time I watch this. Also, Cary Elwes is phenomenal here. His facial expressions often have me laughing harder than anything else.

Another freaking hilarious comedy of the 90s. I know people who can recite this movie from memory. I never could take Cary Elwes seriously in anything else ever again.

Mel Brooks forgot how to be funny.

Place the swashbuckling of Errol Flynn, the fun musical sense of Disney's Robin Hood, a good number of aspects of Kevin Costner's Prince of Thieves, and a Mel Brooks movie in a blender and this is what you get. I've always enjoyed this movie, but I'll admit that some of the jokes have aged out of being funny and others are a bit flat in general. However, I felt that what does work, works really well and makes for an enjoyable time. It's silly and stupid, but that's exactly the point.

Damn... I watched this at a time when I wanted to like Mel Brooks, but almost all his movies do his best to make that hard. Blazing saddles and frankenstein jr and (especially) the producers (the original) are funny - but this thing.... sad...
