An amusing distraction with bright colors and fun references to classic video games, but it's really just a couple of minutes of fluff. EDIT: If only time travel existed, someone could go back and prevent Adam Sandler from ever seeing this and subsequently shitting out a feature length version. Actually, if time travel existed it would probably be better for the world in general to just kill Sandler somewhere around 1992.

8-bit awesomeness and one of the best disaster (short) movies out there.

Wish it were longer, otherwise, brilliant short.

The presentation is too flashy and immediate and small in scope, so it looks like a TV commercial. The effects are seamless and often spectacular but I wish any effort at all had been expended toward the sound effects blending into their surroundings in the same way. And there's no getting past just how sick I am of short films about video games coming to life (have our imaginations been this stunted by them?), though this is easily the best example of it I've seen.

How could such a cute little harmless short go on to inspire one of the worst atrocities of all time? Oh ya, Adam Sandler. This is why this will forever remain the superior Pixels. The novelty of seeing your favorite old time games destroying a city really only lasts a few minutes until it wears off.

It's so perfectly done, so credible and so beautiful, I really don't mind it doesn't tell anything at all. Nostalgia and good technic do everything.

An entertaining little short. It's missing Huey Lewis and the News singing "Hip to be Square", but that's probably a good thing...

Maybe I'm feeling humourless today but I didn't find this to be anything special. The gimmick is cute, but the film does little with the potential beyond some lame video game references.

Really fun little short that doesn't overstay its welcome. Looks like Adam Sandler and crew are here to run the idea into the ground with a feature, though.

I don't usually go for these CGI-inflicted animated shorts, but this one was bound to be a bit of a guilty pleasure for me and anyone who played video games in the 1980's.

It was very pretty but I was expecting a little more creativity or humour. For example, where were the thousands of screaming pedestrians?

Hard to compare this to something, like oh, say, Apocalypse Now or the Shining considering it's 210 seconds long and stars...er...no one. Was visually impressive, but if the invaders (and I, for one, welcome our pixelated overlords) had that bomb from the start, what's the point of sending in the other troops?

Clever short movie, it is more of a show-off of technical prowess but by tickling my childhood SNES memories it gripped me.

Not the film. Just a short they based the film on. It has no plot, just 8-bit mayhem for about 2 minutes. It's cute, worth a quick watch, but ultimately forgettable.
