Family fantasy about a 12 year-old boy who, as the sole person in the world who can control all the elements, provides hope for freeing the world from the chaos that consumes it. a joyless, soulless, muddled mess... has epic scope and soaring ambitions, exotic locations and a cast of thousands, but manages to get everything wrong on every level.... The script is so incomprehensible, it's often difficult to follow.

Complete disaster, everything was done wrong and they rushed through the movie to tell as much as possible from Season 1... in an hour and thirty film. The Acting is horrible, everyone says the characters names wrong, the cinematography improved a bit from M. Night's previous films. The battle scenes are done bad and exposition was all over the place and terrible! The worst part is the let down ending and how climatic it was and then don't do anything. A terrible disgraceful film to cinema!

I wanted so much to like this film. But unfortunately M. Night Shchamalamadingdong managed to nip that in the butt. They ran out of budget, they attempted to cram an entire series of information into one film, and they wasted all of their funding on the special effects involved. Ultimately I could think of a hundred better things to do with a blank DVD than put this film on it.

A Story about loving thy neighbor. Not a good adaptation of the tv series, I did guess the very end of the film months before the release though.

I actually cried watching the movie because it destroyed my childhood. If I could give (-) scores, I would wreck this movie. Never forgave M. Night Shamalamamamamam for it, he can rot in hell.

Great special effects/3D and occasionally good art design. That's about it on the positive side. In comparison to the TV series it isn't the same. The TV series had more humor and was more enjoyable. Mostly because they could go for 9hrs. If this was to follow the example it should go for 3hrs like LOTR.

Almost so bad it's good but not quite. It is an insult to the source material. Some of the bad parts about this include it was poorly cast, the characters personalities are stripped, there is literally no character development, the dialogue is terrible, the movie tries to cover an entire seasons worth of content through exposition, the bending scenes are lacking. The only positive about this movie is it's only about 95 minutes of pain & disappointment. Rather than the 2.5 hours it could've been

I hate this movie more than any other movie I have ever seen. Utter desecration of one of my favourite cartoons.

Stunningly bad. Just a failure on every level, even at the basic technical stuff you normally take for granted. It's insane to me that this was made by professional filmmakers. The scene where it took a bunch of guys dancing to move a rock did make me laugh a lot though so I'll throw it some points for that.

They spend some money on the production, but the acting doesn't seem natural. The story is not flushed out. Guess they depended on our knowledge of the animated series to fill the holes. I never saw it.

The worst movie I have ever seen in my life. An insult to the source material. They can't even pronounce the names correctly!

This movie taught me to hate in a way that no other has. How a demonstrably talented filmmaker could take one of the most beloved cartoons of the 21st century and fail so spectacularly at capturing a single aspect of its beauty or even producing any individual merit as its own film remains one of the great mysteries of our time. Moreso than the wrongful banishment of Zuko and even the genocide of the air nomads, the true epic tragedy is this movie's very existence.

A disgrace to the original. The only good thing I can say about this "movie" is that it eventually ends. 2/10

Another sloppy attempt to cash in on popularity. Tried to cram 12 and a half hours of cartoon into a 1 and a half hour long live-action movie. Too much was cut out, focus was on special effects, names were mispronounced, and M Night Shyamalan didn't throw in a twist. The only redeeming factor was the fight sequences, and there were only 3.

After reading all the critics, i had little to no expectations before watching the movie. i have to say its by far not as good as the anime, but way better than all the critics told. not the biggest movie ever, but not so bad either.
