The Last American Virgin

An American Hippie in Israel meets American Graffiti, it carries all of the jaw dropping common poorly aged moments that all 80's teen comedies do, but tangles it with a slight missing in translation bit of madness that causes a young man to bring a dozen oranges to an abortion.

I’m young and stupid and don’t know how to properly convey my emotions so I’m just going to blare REO Speedwagon and the Cars. How you react to the ending will reveal if you’re a good person or not.

I miss the 80s. Place it between the free-lovin' decadence of the 70s and the socially-concerned hypocrisy of the 90s. If you think of it like that, this movie spans thirty years and proves that...ah hell, I hate the world.

I wish I could give this movie a higher rating, but the acting is among the worst I've seen, the music soundtrack is used nonsensically (many songs make encore appearances... I guess they ran out of money for more songs), and there are more stupid scenes than good ones. Thats Ed, the ending is commendably downbeat and the frank depiction of sex & nudity underlines how repressive current teen films are.

The members of the triangle are perfectly cast. Contains one of my favorite moments in film: all the leaves of fall as he goes to see her about her abortion (you can practically smell 'em). And of course the diabolical ending.

In essence an American remake of Boaz Davidson's own Israeli movie, "Eskimo Limon", which is locally considered a great classic. I think this is a more accomplished execution of that script. A superior teen comedy, it grows more thoughtful and daring as the film progresses, and does not submit to the genre's conventional zany optimism and inconsequential carelessness. By the way, the soundtrack is excellent (it even has Oingo Boingo) and expertly edited in.

This combination of over-the-top Cannon Films madness & 80's teen comedy is a rather unique entry in the genre. It goes against conventions by e.g. letting the fat kid get lucky and provides a shocking ending. It's a remake of an Israeli film made by largely the same people, which might explain why it feels slightly out of time - somewhere between American Graffiti's Americana and the present of 80's. Still probably a more realistic portrait than the John Hughes films that soon followed.

This film is a classic in the genre whose central theme is sex, or rather the male virginity. Is more comic than spicy, which tells the story of Gary, Rick and David, three friends and a huge problem for them, the virginity of Gary.

Met all my expectations of an '80s shallow teen sex comedy. Music was too much at times. Can't believe I've never heard of this film or the actors. Changes the formula of romances a bit. Would have appreciated seeing more female storylines, such as more Rose. Loved the ending. Fav scene: Millie being all nonchalant with the chips while Gary tries to undress her.

Started off pretty decent, but it completely derailed about 40 minutes in with a painfully unfunny sequence involving what we would now call a cougar. I had a lot of trouble getting back into it after that. This is quintessential 80s though, and I think this flick should be more well known. Really awesome soundtrack. According to wiki, this is a remake of an Israeli flick--over there it was a big movie that's spawned eight sequels.

The horny hijinks in this raunchy teen comedy proffer few laughs, and the flagrant misogyny of it all could easily turn off some modern viewers. The third act however veers unexpectedly into serious, sobering territory and ends with a quietly devastating final scene, which elevates the material considerably above the bulk of its contemporaries. The soundtrack is superb too.

My favourite B movie of all time, unique mix of hysterical comedy and touching drama. Nice guys finish last, always have always will
