Well-intentioned, but it bites off far more than it can chew and becomes a typical "troubled-artist-biopic-against-backdrop-of-epic-historical-events". We see a bite-sized morsel of apartheid, but not enough to give any real sense of its horror... Interactions between characters are abbreviated because there's a lot to get in, leaving no depth or emotional texture to the situations, so everyone just ends up appearing hysterical... Her child might as well be a prop.,, You get the idea.
