Poor Buster's idiocy leads to an act of domestic terrorism. Gotta feel for the guy.

Maybe a strange observation, but I think this one was actually rather understated. Mostly what I mean is that for me there were lots of stunts that were immediately moderately funny and interesting, but the longer you think about them in the rear-view, the more you're like, "wait, holy shit what the fuck?" Like they say, he made it look easy [or is it Chaplin they say that about? ...eh, fuck Chaplin].

This one takes longer than usual (for Keaton) to heat up, but that protracted chase stands among Keaton's best.

Sure, I was drunk, but the last 5 or so minutes had me in tears.

Slight and shallow effort for Keaton feels like something tossed together with quick efficiency – he’s done bigger and better but this is still fun, especially the gradual escalation into large scale lunacy of the final chase sequence, and the amusing “nobody’s perfect” of the very final scene. Typical good fun for Keaton, though unlikely to stand out in his filmography.

More spirited Keaton fun, if a tad uneven.

Questionable motives and resolution aside (as well as all that nonsense with the horse-carriage), this little one certainly lives up to it's title and ends up being damn entertaining, especially with the insanely awesome ladder stunt.

a watchable outing for keaton, the only gag that sticks out is the ladder. could have used a bit more of the imagination he had, but i don't have anything to complain about.

A little too maniacal for my tastes but still worthy of a watch on YouTube - I've never regretted discovering a Buster Keaton flick & this one was no different.

Most of the gags are at least OK, even if it does take longer than usual to really get going. The real attraction is the big chase with an entire parade full of police at the end, which makes up for the rest feeling a bit slow for Keaton.

Fast-forward until you see the wagon fall apart. After that, it gets funny. The ladder stunts were great but there's some other good stuff in there as well.

Typical Keaton in that it's very good and still funny. Less stunts than you would normally see in one of his films but still very much a worthy short.

A very fast-paced and funny Keaton short, boasting a fantastic Chase sequence and some admirably precise visual gags.

Very fast and funny. One of Keaton's best shorts, and arguably boasts the greatest chase sequence he ever did.

Here we go, on yet another most-of-the-movie police chase. That made me tune out a little, although some of the acrobatic tricks were technically impressive.

The blink-and-you'll miss it (15:35) stunt when Buster spontaneously hitches a ride is hilarious and as incredible as it must have been dangerous to perform.

The amount of extras in this film is unbelievable. Thought it was okay until the chase scene then it really becomes special, kinda drags in the beginning.

The police chase is easily the best part of this funny short.

A cool early two-reeler from Keaton. It's very good for a short silent slapstick comedy, even if it doesn't reach the dizzying heights of his best feature films. The plot is a reference to the Fatty Arbuckle scandal, apparently. Clever stuff.

Shit yeah, Keaton!

The iconic chase sequence is only a superior second part of an inferior first.

There are some excellent visual gags and some incredible stunts in this short film. The $5 horse is the best of the former, and the grabbing the car on the way by followed by the hilarious ladder see-saw are the best of the latter. The being launched off the ladder looks like an effect but I wonder how they got it. The chase scene is reminiscent of the brides chase scene in the later Seven Chances. Good way to spend 20 minutes.

One of the better Keaton shorts and Cops has enough funny moments (the teeter-totting ladder, swam of cops) to remember by even though it is only 18 minutes long.

All I could think of was the poor horse :(. Also, did he (spoiler) die at the end?! lmfao.
