Foxfur

Adorable, insane, incomprehensible, only funny when it's not trying to be, and endowed with a Lynch-esque anti-logic that I always love when it feels like it's simply arising naturally from the filmmaker's sensibilities and not a forced affectation to compensate for a lack of original ideas, even when, as here, it's all budgetary seams. The myriad Foxfurs are all impossibly cute. The whole movie is just cute as a button.

Wow. This has a very strange, detached feeling to it. Quite a journey. That's probably enough Packard for one day.

Clearly damaged from lack of budget, but still fascinating and engaging in spite of being nearly nonsensical. The different actresses portraying Foxfur stems from the low budget and drawn out shooting schedule, but I think it works in favor of the film. Packard's hopeless view of human culture is in full force here, but it's doesn't come across as mean spirited.
