This Night I Will Possess Your Corpse

This is a pretty direct continuation of the previous film. Most of it is pretty similar in tone and style, but I found it a bit more engaging and there's a scene of pure insanity that's pretty cool.

Strange and drags in some places. Joe makes a great villain

Less atmosphere but more focused, and generally better in every way than the first film.

So vile and agressive. Coffin Joe continues only believing in the immortality of his blood and his superiority above all men. Kills off five women -- one of the was pregnant, his only regret murdering an innocent baby --, the Colonel's son and make his sister fall for him. A colored dream as the giallo version of hell, with whipping and naked bodies within walls and floors. Eventually he's forced to repent by society, only to have another shot of having a son. Study on hypocrisy.

Even worse.

Prefer the first one slightly, but I'm not a huge fan of this series. I think I must be missing something because it all feels kind of pointless, though there are some interesting scenes.

J'ai pris beaucoup de plaisir à retrouver le personnage de Zé do Caixão, une espèce de monstre de cruauté, faisant des déclamations insensées et pourtant se moquant des superstitions de ses concitoyens. Bref un des plus beau héros Sadien du cinéma. Et ce n'est pas la mort qui allait le changer, au contraire cette suite est encore plus démesuré & halluciné.
