The only good thing about Troll is the fact that they put the name out there so a happy bunch of horrible filmmakers could produce the worst movie ever made: Troll 2. Aside from that distinction, this movie is the definition of "eh."

This movie is a horrible sequel to Troll 2.

Though superior to Troll 2 on a purely technical level, there is no joy or humor to be found in the depths of this movie's awful story, it's pretty painful to watch. Ok, seeing Sonny Bono and Julia Louis-Dreyfuss in this dreck was kind of funny, then just sad.

Such an ugly film with grotesque creatures like those Jim Henson and David Bowie movies from the 80's. The troll song was great, as was Harry Potter Sr's living room dancing. Somewhat entertaining if you watch it like a Goosebumps episode and turn it off 30 mins in.

Nothing in this makes any sense at all. Saying it's better than the sequel sure is damning it with faint praise, although here it's justified. Just make Harry Potter jokes throughout, it'll make the time pass quicker.

The parts of Troll 2 that do have some resemblance to sense, are few and far in between. Though an entertaining movie in its own right, its quite bad, even with its Hensen-esque feel. Basically, I only watched this so I could watch the sequel.

They seemed to try very hard in this film and compared to Troll 2 it is Gone With the Wind but it forgets to be entertaining, or good. Though the musical number is nice.

Don't think I'll ever hear Blue Cheer's Summertime Blues the same way again. Needed a lot more Anne Lockhart and a lot less... of everything else.

I'm not sure if trolling was a term in the 80's for messing with people, but this movie was all about trolling for the lol's. This movie was absolutely crazy. The first crazy thing was that the dad's name in the film was Harry Potter. It also involved a lot of magical creatures and magic. So J.K. Rowling might have copied a B-movie for her popular book series...

Band was always better when he was letting directors at Empire follow their own instincts rather than popular trends, but at the same time, his attempts to put a low budget spin on mainstream genres were often interesting, even if only for laughs. Troll is no exception. It's a blatant effort to ape Henson's creature designs of the period, and the effects aren't bad for the budget. Some of the performances are also amusing, although Moriarty is strangely subdued, at least by his standards.

Critics trash this movie, but I thought it was cheesy but fun. Also, it had decent creature and special effects for the day and gives you glimpse of the 80s.

Watched this a long time ago and don't remember much. The puppets are done well enough and the actors aren't bad either. Find yourself laughing at unintended times and not laughing at intended times, which is often the case when this type of film is made PG.

Not the worst film I've seen by far, but it's neither good enough to keep your attention nor awful in the right way to make a particularly fun night of it with buddies. If you want to see Ben Stone from Law & Order "rock out," Sonny Bono turn into a pupa, or Julia Louis-Dreyfus frolic around transmuting herself into light, though, this is just the movie for you!!

It's kind of impossible to rank because, while it's not good by most traditional measures it completely succeeds in achieving its ludicrous vision.

Another forgettable _Gremlins_ Empire Pictures knock-off, this has a typically manic Moriarty and rubbery makeup FX. Mainly for those who've just *gotta* see Bono turned into a five-foot avocado.

BlurayRip RARBG.

Huh, eh what the fuck? Many eyebrow raising moments in this shitty movie. It's only 1 hour and 20 minutes long, but it seems like 5 hours. 5 hours of shitty dialogue, shitty acting, shitty directing. Everything is shitty. I see some resemblance between this Harry Potter, and the JK Rowling Harry Potter. Lol. IT'S SHIT

With meh performances, writing so unnatural & unintentionally hilarious it's almost painful, and characters so impressively boring that the admittedly intriguing premise & lore surrounding them become impossible to invest in, it does feature some admirable creature designs- but that's pretty much it. The pacing is wonky, the ending is dumb, and it's much more snooze-inducing than scary. Julia Louis-Dreyfus does show up, but she can't save this by herself. Overall, it's dull & disappointing.

I didn't mind this that much.. Yes, it's horrible, but it has great entertainment value for it's unintentional hilarity, and the midget/elf/troll guy (Phil Fondacaro) was pretty awesome. Also, it's much better than the sequel. Watched Troll 2 right after this, and it made Troll look like a great film in comparison.

Troll owes its fame to its incredible sequel, and it also capitalizes on comparisons with Troll 2 - because obviously, any movie is a masterpiece compared to Troll 2. But if you enjoyed watching Troll 2 (who didn't?), you'll find little of similar comedic value in Troll, which is a moronic low-budget family horror movie. Nothing special, just a bad movie.

This is a very fun, campy movie that you could possibly enjoy if you don't expect to be scared at all. Some interesting bit parts can be seen here from the stars or yesteryear. Stop after this one, don't even try watching the second film.

Kinda like those Jim Henson fantasy movies from the 80s, only really, really bad. Ironically, even though it's definitely better made than the sequel in any conceivable way, it's a much duller watch.
