Some of our more verbose users have noticed that we limit Mini-Reviews to 500 characters (due to space constraints). However, until today, we didn’t give users any way to see how close to the limit they were. If a Mini-Review went over the limit, we unceremoniously chopped it off at 500 characters, destroying a user’s painstakingly-crafted opus. Awful!

From now on, you’ll at least know when you’ve reached the limit by keeping an eye on the Character Counter — found wherever you can enter Mini-Reviews. It’ll turn red when you approach 500 characters, and let you know when you’ve exceeded that limit.

Nice update
Can you add this feature for the Message function too? I wrote like 500 words instead of 500 chars the other day =D. Perhaps raise it from 500 to 1000 for PMs?
Keep up the good work!
I can’t think of any thing else to say than one short, yet effective, word: FINALLY.
Glad you like the update! That’s a good idea to add it to the Personal Messages, too. We may increase the character limit on those… but we first have to see how often users write them, and how they’re used.
We’ve just added this functionality to Personal Messages as well. Thanks for the catch, TheAlliance!
