At the Oscar’s last night, the Coen Brothers’ No Country For Old Men took home the prize for best film. Did the Academy honor the right movie? Criticker’s user community has spoken! Here are the 5 nominees ordered by average tier at Criticker, from worst to best:

5. Michael Clayton – 7.20

4. Atonement – 7.28

3. Juno – 7.81

2. No Country For Old Men – 8.83

Sorry, Oscar voters — it might be an ultimately subjective decision, but we feel confident in saying: you got it wrong.
I am a Pride & Pred nut! I have seen the DVD hundreds of times, and even managed to overheat a DVD player trying to watch all 8 hours in one sitting (it was raining outside). Surroundings Magazine have done a few articles on how to decorate your home like the elegant properties featured in the series. Each article has links to stores where you get pieces of period replica furniture, and many stills from the series. Chose from the Bennet’s comfortable manor

Or the handsome Mr Bingley’s Netherfield Park

Or the very grand Pemberley

When I saw this dress in Atonement, I gasped. It is one of the finest dresses I have ever seen, and now I could own it by bidding here. If I were to buy it I am not too sure what I would do with it, maybe a drag show? $10k is a bit pricy for me, but it would hold its value- if you bought it and hung onto it for 15 or 20 years, you could sell it back to an actress to wear to the oscars, a bit like Julia Roberts did with this Valentino number she wore when she won the Oscar for best actress for Erin Brockovich in 2001. Mr. Valentino insisted that Julia keep the original!
