With 10.000 B.C. (2008) coming out in theatres around the world soon MSNBC contributor Christopher Bahn put together a list of 11 great prehistoric films. I’d love to give my opinion on his list but there are a lot of films i haven’t seen yet, 9 of them to be precise. Some of them don’t really look very interesting to be honest, but apart from Kubrick’s masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey and Jurassic Park which i’ve seen already Fantasia looks like fun, but perhaps i am too old for that one?
About 10.000 B.C., what are your expectations? I don’t think it’s going to be well received at all judging from the trailer alone. Too Hollywood’ish – and a Microsoft Word 3D logo just like Lost won’t save them either i’m afraid. I’ll guess we’ll find out soon.
Anyway, the list:
- Gertie the Dinosaur (1914) (watch it on YouTube here!)
- The Lost World (1925) (watch it on archive.org here!)
- Fantasia (1940)
- One Million Years B.C. (1966)
- 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
- Land of the Lost (TV Serie, 1974-76)
- The Land That Time Forgot (1975)
- Quest For Fire (1981)
- The Clan Of The Cave Bear (1986)
- Jurassic Park (1993)
- Walking With Cavemen (TV, 2003)

PS: Hi! This is my first blogpost ever, yes… Ever! I guess i’ll introduce myself a bit: I’m Dutch, 23 year old male and my hobbies (besides movies) are games and travelling (cultures, nature/landscape). I can’t say i know a lot about films like some of you here, so don’t expect a lot of insightfull comments or blogposts from me, i’ll just stick to blogging about some funlists, toplists or other random things i find on the internet. Till next time!
