This news is a few days old, but is interesting enough to share anyway. Sacha Baron-Cohen and Will Ferrell are lined up to star Sherlock Holmes & Dr. Watson respectively, in a film for Columbia Pictures.

We’re guessing that it will be a comedy.
Cohen & Ferrell also teamed up in Talladega Nights, and their strange chemistry proved to be that film’s highlight. In our opinion, everything Cohen has touched so far has been golden (and Ferrell’s hitting about 75%), so we’re extremely excited about this pairing.

Who do you think will have top billing? Our guess is that it will be more of a Will Ferrell vehicle, though we’re hoping it’s the other way around. Interestingly, Guy Ritchie is also making a film about Sherlock Holmes, probably due out around the same time. Tough luck, Guy — your’s just became the 2nd most anticipated Holmes film in the near future.

The “Bruno” character tricked an Israeli analyst described in a story in the Forward this week.
The comedian was dressed in studs and leather pretending to be a German rock star. According to the article, Yossi Alphers and a Palestinian colleague played it “straight and square” but realized that it was a joke when the interviewer confused Hamas and hummus. At one point the interviewer even claimed the Jennifer-Angelina conflict was worse than the Israeli-Palestinian conflict!
Can’t wait for Bruno to come out.
