This is one of most amusing and refreshing bits of actor self-appraisal one’s likely to encounter. I’ve seen Meryl Streep in interviews and she’s always likable, but this makes me think even more highly of her. Sure, she praises herself, but it’s in funny, self-effacing sort of way. Or so it seems.

I like Silkwood. It’s filled with muffled screams and union ghosts and twenty minutes of Meryl Streep scissoring Cher whilst Kurt Russell looks on in angsty suppressed envy.
