His wife kidnapped by a megalomaniacal communist dictator, Shin Sang-ok is forced to make films to satisfy his new master’s evil whim! But that’s not even the plot of this film… just the true story of how it was made:
"Kim Jong-il later confessed to me that the reason he kidnapped my wife first was because he wanted me to come and make films for him," Shin Sang-ok said. Kim Jong-il is film mad. Soon after the couple arrived in Pyongyang he took them for a private tour of his film library, which holds more than 15,000 movies. Keen to add to them, he placed $2.5m into an Austrian bank account and told Mr Shin that the money would be available for him to make "good" films. Read Full Story here via BBC

Feel like watching the whole movie right now? Well, you can, if you are located in the US! Jackass 2.5 is the first movie to premiere first online, and you can watch the whole thing from 12/19 until 12/31! Since I’m not fortunate enough to live in the states, I can’t say whether or not the film is any good… But if you live outside of the US and have discovered a way to watch it, please leave a comment.
I didn’t quite buy this film when it came out. Honestly, who really thinks that fast food is healthy and should be eaten every single day? If you haven’t seen it yet, here’s your chance to see the whole thing for free:
It takes a little time to load.
“Super Size Me” is one man’s journey into the world of weight gain, health problems and fast food. It’s an examination of the American way of life and how we are eating ourselves to death. Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock unravels the American obesity epidemic by interviewing experts nationwide and by subjecting himself to a ’McDonald’s only’ diet for thirty days straight. His Sundance award-winning feature is as entertaining as it horrifying as it dives into corporate responsibility, nutritional education, school lunch programs and how we as a nation are eating ourselves to death.
Thank you KGB for giving me the idea for this post.
The copyright of a lot of Charlie Chaplin movies has run out, which allows us to watch them online in full length. I’ve gathered couple of them for your viewing pleasure:
Make sure that you watch the films in original size, otherwise the quality is bad. Also, feel free to let me know if you’ve found a better quality film, one I missed or The Great Dictator in English, by sending an email to blog -at- criticker dot com

Thank you Pilgermann for sending us another full length feature: The Mouse and His Child After you’ve watched the film, make sure to head over to its film info page to rank it.
Pilgermann’s Mini Review: This is a decent adaptation of Russel Hoban’s brilliant novel. The violence is toned down a bit, but they left in most of the existential shit about infinity and whatnot (the Bonzo Dog Food label sequence is pretty cool). Unfortunately the animation isn’t the highest quality, but it’s not terrible. Overall it’s a pretty good film and fine for a person of any age.
