Very good account of the Leeson affair, essentially posing the question of whether it is to be explained as the criminal fraud of a single individual or as the result of a corporate culture of greed and speculation, with banking executives unwilling to see or think past the shortest-term (apparent) profits. Curtis concludes, of course, that it was both. A parable for our times, but one that went unheeded, as shown by all the economic disasters of the years that followed.

Probably the least "controversial" of Curtis's documentaries, but still full of insouciant flair.

It was a very good documentary about corrupt and inept bankers but it didn't have the same insightful ideological critique found in Curtis's other films. He has set the bar pretty high for himself.
