A really fun western with some fascinating characters and great action sequences.

Decent western with good story and good performances from the two lead characters, but lacks character development save for the one major antagonist.

Good film, but modern westerns (especially remakes) don't have much interesting to offer. A movie like No Country for Old Men is what a modern western should aim for.

Exceptional modern day western. The emotional connection between Bale and Crowe's characters is what makes this film so engaging, while providing great villains and terrific gun slinging action. A must see.

I liked it. Good actors, good plot, the end is somewhat needlessly melodramatic, but that only diminishes my favour for this movie a tiny bit.

James Mangold delivers a worthy western flick into a genre that has thus been extinct. 310 to Yuma is carried by Crowe and Bale's lead performances. The story is a little light but, the action keeps on coming. The film sputters about midway through however and loses most of it's originality. Yuma turns itself around with a memorable ending though.

Solid gunslinging. It's a good movie, but if we're talking modern westerns it doesn't even come close to "The Assassination of Jesse James..."

Don't make the mistake of thinking of it as a retelling the story from the '57 classic film - it's different in many ways, with inclinations more towards action/road film then to a character study, and is much more romantic/idealistic then the original, somewhat surprising considering how simplistic the westerns tended to be back then. For me, it's another sad example of how very decent acting, costumes and filming never will make up for holes in the screenplay.

This one was not very memorable.

This and True Grit are getting me to fall in love with the Western genre. Excellent pacing, and both the main characters (Crowe and Bale) perform brilliantly. The only letdown was the ending, which is as contrived as they come.

Broke my heart. Was absolutely loving it until the final 15 minutes. Personally, I couldn't make that leap...couldn't suspend my disbelief that much. I think it did a real disservice to the greatness that preceded it. Still, it's so well made that I can overlook it to a degree.
