needed less eddie murphy and mr.raspy voice(nick nolte). Best thing about this movie were the bad guys being Ajax from the Warriors and Billy from Predator. Also liked seeing Luther from the Warriors and that black guy from last action hero in pretty much the same role. shit was legit.

Murphy at his very best as shame the chemistry with Nolte isn't really there.

Surprisingly poor... the plot is fairly stupid, and most of the dialogue as random as it gets... And the chemistry between Nolte and Murphy is worse than Nolte and Robertson in I love trouble

One of those buddy action comedies that only worked in the 1980's.

An alright take on the buddy-cop genre, with the one cop, but still... Memorable because it was one of the first films of the genre during the 80's. It's sorta what Rush Hour was derived from.

The plot is riddled with cliches and stereotypes, and the dialogue lacks flavor and wit, but the San Francisco atmosphere is gritty, the action scenes are exciting, the direction is taut, the editing superb, and Nolte and Murphy are great together. My favorite part: Eddie Murphy's unique rendition of "Roxanne."

While Murphy's scenes are OK, the film has no cohesive plot, and goddamn Spottiswoode and goddamn Hill seem to goddamn think that sticking the goddamn word 'goddamn' in every fifteen goddamn seconds is a goddamn good way to make a goddamn script goddamn edgy. It doesn't goddamn work.

Boring and unfunny run-of-the-mill police movie. No different from the bazillion other buddy cop movies that were made in the 80s.

An excellent buddy cop action/comedy. Also, one of the first. So-so story held up on the shoulders of the perfect odd couple of lead actors. Some cringe-worthy racism aside, a very enjoyable watch.
