Early Women in Prison flick that more or less established all the conventions of the exploitation genre. Sadistic wardens, tough lesbians, brutal conditions, catfights, and a wide eyed and innocent new prisoner trying to learn the ropes. Eventually there's an escape attempt that goes badly leading to a downer ending. A pretty good effort, and certainly less sleazy than some of Franco's later WIP films. The XXX version includes a bunch of inserted hardcore footage not shot by Franco.
