The good news is that Jenna Fischer can carry an independent drama. However, this writer-director needs more than "a little help" to turn his ideas into gold. So many subplots and themes are opened up and not one of them is followed through to a proper conclusion. Furthermore, what a dire attempt to lighten serious drama with comic relief. This is a zero-laugh film. And pretty depressing, which I'm sure it doesn't mean to be. Mainly a case of potential talent bogged down by a god-awful script.

There are definitely some unconventional pieces to this story, but it still comes across as a bland little melodrama.

"The film apparently intends to be a dramedy, but with next to no humor materializing, the story quickly bogs down into earnest indie bathos." - Nick Schager
