Summary: Rosario Russo murdered thirty-two people, gained power, and then got afraid because too many people wanted to kill him. For fifteen years, everyone believed him dead. Instead, he was living in a little hotel near Frankfurt, with a wife and a young German son. Then, when the trains filled with waste departed from Naples, the past climbed on board. While trying to kill a chestnut tree with a copper nail, Rosario was grabbed from behind by his past. And was forced to settle the score. (imdb)

A well paced, directed and acted thriller which grew slowly but nice. The score was stunning. Specially I liked the old record sound which haunted from somewhere past something you wished you forgot. Toni Servillo as an angry cock/owner was a highlight of the cast. Though I liked the story as well, I found it a bit short for full feature. Editing was also well achieved.

"Claudio Cupellini's A Quiet Life works best if you think of it as a divergent alternative scenario for Toni Servillo's character in The Consequences of Love." - Simon Abrams

An accomplished and atmospheric thriller whose similarities to "Le conseguenze dell'amore" don't do it any harm. It's perhaps a more simplistic film, but the twists of the story are played out with good pacing by just the right number of characters. Very well acted by Toni Servillo and the two other male leads.
