Nothing really clever or original here. Instead I'm just gonna suggest alternate stage names for Rip Torn: Drop Fall, Kick Trip, Cut Bleed, Run Tire, etc. etc. There ya go; the most useless review ever.

A mixed bag containing some of the tiredest cliches (such as the violin crescendo leading up to the "oh it was just the cat" jump-scare, and the overly dramatic and unlikely ending) but also some really unexpected plot turns and blind alleys, which keep the film engaging and at least mildly suspenseful. The directing and acting are generally sub-par, but not so bad that the whole thing falls apart or anything.
