Summary: Malavika (K.P.A.C. Lalitha) of the Kunnathu family has three sons - Sreedharan (Jagathi Sreekumar), Dineshan (Manian Pillai Raju) & Balachandran (Jayaram). The elder two have all girl children, which doesn't bode well with Malavika, who is obsessed with the idea of having a boy in the household. Balachandran falls in love & marries Ambika (Sudharani), but when they too get a girl child, Balachandran is forced to lie about this & pretend that his pal Pappan's (Biju Menon) boy child is his own.
