As relevant today as it was more than twenty years ago, and surprisingly devoid of any songs, I. V. Sasi's star-studded political drama, 'Adimakal Udamakal', paints the bleak picture of a Kerala plagued by petty politics and partisanship, the worst of the lot being the socialist communist ideology, and how it works against the development and upkeep of industries in the state. As someone who has seen this situation up, close and personal, I cannot but empathize with the movie's message.
