Summary: When his father's body is stolen from its grave, Afro takes up his sword again to tear through an army of deadly foes led by a sadistic leader. (imdb)
How often is it that a film tie-in ends up being better than the original? Hardly ever in my experience but "Resurrection" is just that. The average story is still present from the series but everything has been upped here, although as fantastic as Lucy Liu is, I would have preferred a reappearance from Ron Perlman. Definitely my favorite non-family animated movie.
Simply shocking that the people who made the original, a hip, funny, action film with terrific fights, would produce such a God-awful, shitty sequel. Besides the plot holes and inconsistencies, were they really too stupid to realize that the audience doesn't want to hear some idiot girl spouting off generic "bad guy" quotes while laughing? I mean, seriously? Is it supposed to be witty or scary? All we wanted were good fight scenes with Afro, which are nowhere to be found. Crap.
Both the tv series and movie is disgusting and one of the worst animation I've seen. Only redeeming factor is the stylish renderings which are also let down with the stupidity of action.
First movie was unique in many ways. This one is crap.
Worse plot, worse script, irrational flow of events, and the bloodshed is not original anymore. Adds nothing to the first movie but takes many things away.
