This installment of the Thin Man series fleshes out some of the staple characters a bit more. I find it a touch more enjoyable, believe it or not. Definitely lighter than the first in the series

Not as good as the first one. Still, an amusing way to pass the time. And it's worth it for Jimmy Stewart's surprising performance.

More comedy-mystery adventures of the screen's greatest married couple, Nick and Nora Charles. I wish I were that witty when I'm drunk. Asta should have won an Oscar, his subplot was hilarious.

Doesn't measure up to the delightful original. Of the five sequels, I'd say it's the one to check out. For more Powell-Loy banter, and for James Stewart as one of the suspects.

An excellent sequel! Myrna Loy and William Powell still have the greatest chemistry, but you have a new actor thrown into the mix: James fuckin Stewart! It's an early role and it's one Hitchcock probably should've seen. Asta is also hysterical in this one and I felt really bad for him. It's hard to say, but I think I might prefer this one.

Love seeing Jimmy Stewart in this one. Asta plays a fine leading dog and wins my heart again. Polly made me cringe every time she spoke. Myrna Loy and William Powell still had it and were a delight.

This series of films is all about the privilege of watching Myrna Loy and William Powell offer witticisms and happily married chemistry as some nefarious plot unfolds before them. The detective angle drives the plot, and Jimmy Stewart definitely raises the level of the cast in this, the second installment of the series. The fact that I am not sure whether I prefer the first or the second says a great deal about the success of this one. Fun film.

This sequel doesn't quite have the involving plot of the original but it has the great characters and those are really the most important part.

Whoa--Jimmy Stewart as Norman Bates (or something like that). Pretty surreal stuff. A couple of the women overact fairly mercilessly, but on the whole it's quite a big batch of fun (even if Asta does get cuckolded somewhere in the mix).

once again i fail to see any real value in powell or loy, and this one isnt even as good as the first, which was fairly lackluster it's self. what it does have is jimmy stewart in an early role and a damn fine one at that. the payoff is the best part in this one, just like the first.

Not as strong as the original. But again Powell and Loy are the reason to watch Thin Man movies, not the plots.
