i was surprised to find out that this is based on the same outfit that ian flemming served with in the war, and i was equally surprised to find it had actually been done well. no stand out actors, but a pretty fine war flick.
Sean Bean is awesome, and dies as usual. The beginning is weak, the ending is very badly rushed, but the middle has excellent pacing and cinematography. Really exhilarating once the mission gets going. Worth a watch.
A pretty good war movie with a couple of recognizable names and faces. The story is less based on the inspiration for the SAS and more in line with the creation of the Commandos of the Royal Marines. A decent rental.
