Forget the propaganda, and watch an exciting film.

One of the finest of the WWII movies, Hawks' exciting classic has worn well through the years, in spite of the Japanese propaganda. Extremely realistic dogfight sequences and powerful, introspective real guy interfacing by the ensemble cast are masterfully combined by Hawks.

A fun propaganda flick. I just can't believe are soldiers and marines were so cheery as we were getting our butts kicked in the Pacific early in the war.

A very good war film with an excellent ensemble cast and brisk, no-nonsense direction. A little too preachy and obvious--the screenplay is by Dudley Nichols, after all--but definitely worth a look.
