Lee Van Cleef plays a wily bandit who takes a job as sheriff of a little mining town as part of a ruse to rob the mining company. But before he can set his plans in motion, a huge gang assaults the town to steal a large shipment of processed silver, and Van Cleef has to defend the people and the loot...but the movie is intentionally ambiguous as to whether he's doing the right thing or just protecting his own interests. Interesting spaghetti western with a decent cast and plenty of shootouts.
