Summary: Set in 1957, ALIEN TRESPASS chronicles a fiery object from space that crashes into a mountaintop in the California desert, bringing the threat of disaster to Earth. Out of the flying saucer escapes a murderous creature - the Ghota, which is bent on destroying all life forms on the planet. A benevolent alien from the spaceship, Urp, inhabits the body of Ted Lewis (Eric McCormack) - a local astronomer - and with the help of Tammy, a waitress from the local diner, sets out to save mankind...
I liked the idea of this and I think they pulled it off rather well. I especially liked the blue-screened driving scene. My only complaint was that the CGI flying saucer didn't look "authentic" enough for the time period. Good references to "The Blob", "Invaders from Mars" and "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" in there.
This movie is a good homage, but it's only that, a homage. It never becomes its own movie, and the run time really starts to drag around the halfway point.
Throwback sci-fi flic covers a group of invading, body-stealing, one-eyed, purple, tentacled, acid-ray-gun-shooting, to funny to believe aliens in their match of conquest. Much better than expected. Just be warned, this is a 1940s-1960s type sci-fi film, that just happened to be made in 2009. It's not an homage, or a remake, or anything other than it's own film AS IF IT WAS DONE THEN.
Another movie that I found myself pleasantly surprised with. I really enjoyed the fact that this was an homage to the science fiction genre of the 50's as those were movies I enjoyed. It had the same cheesy looking creature, cheesy story and it even had a cheesy message at the end reminiscent of those kinds of movies. But the thing that really surprised me was how funny this film could be. I found myself laughing out loud at some of the lines, especially the line at the end about the pipe.
Trudno ocenic film, ktory celowo jest kiczowaty poprzez stylizacje na kino sf lat 50-tych, ale co tu duzo mowic - podobalo mi sie :-) Zasluguje na siodemke.
