The right kind of ridiculous. Grab a few drinks, invite some people over and enjoy your collective bad taste in movies. The alien in question looks like a cross between pre-eyeball Sauron and a goddamn dolphin, which is such a mindblowingly bad decision that it implodes in on itself and becomes The Greatest Thing instead.

At parts slow, but when it becomes awesome, it becomes EXTREMELY awesome. Like when someones head get's chopped off, and a crow picks its eye with a dry plucky sound

If dolphin-like humanoid aliens ever attack, I think I'll know what to do after viewing this film.

Of all the recent J-sploitation films, this is probably the most, for lack of a better word, normal. For example: there isn't any purposefully hilarious CGI, there's no terrible or OTT acting, there isn't even any, save for a few scenes, knee slapping dialogue. That isn't to say it's not some hilarious B-movie, it's called Alien vs Ninja fer chrissake! What it is, and you'll hear this is a lot, is an adult version of an episode of Power Rangers. I was sold once I saw the guy in the alien suit.

Despite my love of extreme cinema, the current wave of cheap, practical effect heavy schlock from Japan has mostly been poor for me, too cheap, too simple minded and without a subversive streak of someone like Takashi Miike. This is somewhat of an exception, turning into a gorier episode of Power Rangers half way through, which is not a bad thing. Where it not for the significant flaws - paper thin characters and the over-use of sped-up scenes - this could have been a fun piece of amusing tack.

A completely silly and extremely entertaining film, don't expect much story or seriousness going in and just enjoy the videogame style action and humour.
