The reveal was done really poorly. Like, she just accepts that Clark is Superman with no real emotion at all. And what's up with the Tommy Wiseau-caliber romantic exchanges? That's just some bad story-telling. Not to mention "The last thing I wanted on your special day was a reptile invasion from the Earth's core.", and the corny-as-hell reality dating show sub-plot with the time travelers. Fuck sakes, man. The end battle and closing sequences were good enough, but... an all-around poor effort.

8-9 mini stories wrapped up to make a mediocre feature animation, entertaining....

One of the weaker DC animated features. I don't know a lot about the Superman universe, and I think a lot of this movie assumed you did. They barely introduced villains which I think have a much bigger backstory that they seemed to skip over for the most part. There also seemed to be way to many plots going on, stick with a few and go with them, this movie had like ten. I guess it probably worked better in the comic (I haven't read it). It just seemed kind of aimless and all over the place.

Incredibly bad voice-over work and feels kinda disjointed. I do really enjoy the art and animation of the DC Animated films, though.

I love Superman and I liked this comic, but I actually did not like this movie. It just seemed rather disjointed and rushed. I appreciate the fact that DC is producing all of these movies based on comic book stories (Under the Red Hood and the upcoming Superman/Batman: Apocalypse), but this one was just so out there (as was the comic), that it was hard for me to enjoy.

While not as incredible as the brilliant Morrison comic series it's based on, it's still one of the best DC Animated features so far, and a great companion piece.

I'm not into Superman, so it's safe to say I'm in for a Morrison adaptation. However except a few idea that shines through, this is a scatterbrained, disneyish and a lackluster animation with forgivably mediocre animation and irredeemable dub.

It doesn't work as a film by any stretch of the imagination -- the first hour or so is a complete mishmash of half-formed ideas, clumsy setpieces, painfully bad dialogue and overwrought plot exposition -- but in the final fifteen minutes it somehow manages to pull itself together into an extraordinarily touching denouement. If only the rest of it had been able to live up to the promise of the ending, this could have been a really special entry into the DCAU.

'All-Star Superman' may have worked as a comic series, but it's not well-suited to make anything resembling a coherent movie. Everything seems like it wants to be clever, but it's just random. Superman is so passive in this movie, there's no reason to care that he's dying. He does nothing but react. Unless it's forced upon him, he's inactive. He'd just die doing nothing. The voice acting, aside from Samson and Luthor, was awful. Either completely devoid of emotion or as melodramatic as a soap.
