An interesting collection of short, "meaningful" stories about racism. Some of them are mediocre and boring, but some of them (notably Spike Lee's and John Woo's ones) are truly compelling and heart-breaking. Overall, though, the film feels too random and conventional to fulfill what it initially set out to do: convince.

And all the points go to Emir Kusturica's segment, whose genius seems completely out of place next to the other junk; Spike Lee, John Woo, Ridley Scott and most of the other directors in this omnibus dish out manipulative tearjerkers, exploitative romanticizations of 3rd-world misery, serious and sentimental to the point of cynicism. Kusturica is the only one who doesn't try to emotionally ravage you. His is a short story of refreshing integrity, both hilarious and sad.
