A slow evolving story, slow shots in epic desolate landscapes, some black and white stuff in between and a few bits of surrealistic imagery. Typical arthouse tricks, but why?

Magaly Solier carries this European / South American drama, that depicts the effects of an environmental accident on a global scale. Altiplano borrows some storytelling elements from films like Babel, but gives the story a more spiritual aspect as well. The surrealist imagery gets a bit much towards the end, but never goes over the top.
